The MFR de Salins-les-Bains is a Maison Familiale Rurale, a vocational school run by an association of families, in the Jura mountains, eastern France. Our learners train through alternance: they spend about half of their time at school and half in placements in companies and organisations.
We are looking for European schools and VET providers who would like to exchange learners and staff with us, host our students for work placements, or send theirs to the Jura.

Our training programmes
Pre-vocational classes (age 13-15)
4e and 3e: lower secondary classes with work placements to discover a wide range of trades and build a career plan.
CAPa SAPVER (age 15-18)
A two-year vocational certificate (EQF 3) in personal care services and retail in rural areas.
Bac Pro SAPAT (age 15-20)
A three-year vocational baccalaureate (EQF 4) in personal care and community services: childcare, elderly care, disability, social and leisure activities. Also available as an apprenticeship.
What we can offer you
- Hosting your learners in work placements in the Jura: nursery schools, care homes, disability services, social and leisure centres, local shops
- Group visits, meetings with our classes and discovery of our local partners
- Job shadowing and exchange of practices for teachers and staff
- A boarding school able to welcome small groups during mobilities
- A small, responsive team and a real experience of organising mobilities
What we are looking for
- Partner schools or VET providers in the care, social, childcare or community sector
- Work placements abroad for groups of 8 to 16 learners, usually for one or two weeks
- Reciprocal exchanges: our learners visit you, yours visit us
- New European partners, alongside our current partners in Belgium, Spain and Italy
Our recent mobilities
Belgium – Dinant
Partnership with the Lycée Notre-Dame de Dinant: study week for our Seconde SAPAT and placements for our 1ère SAPAT (March 2027), then hosting of the Belgian learners in Salins (May 2027).
Spain – Soria
Two weeks of work discovery in local companies for our 3e learners, with a cultural programme (March 2027).
Italy – Turin
Mobility of our learners in April 2025.
